...And did we mention how much we enjoyed learning the Junior Achievement lessons taught just before Spring Break, by our parent volunteer, Julie Hess (Lachlan's mom) ? We learned about the difference between needs and wants. We learned about how businesses provide goods and services to our community. We learned what entrepreneur means, and more. Thank you, Mrs. Hess, for your engaging lessons!
First graders got a great introduction to business. Not only did Mrs. Hess have engaging lessons, but to my amazement, she knew EVERY child's name!

In this lesson, Mrs. Hess showed pictures of various products, and students had to hold up a card showing whether they thought the product would fulfill a need or a want.
